Football Association of Malaysia: Kelantan, Not Yet Submitting Registration for Wan Zack Haikal
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has not yet received the official registration document of Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor for Kelantan Football Association.
The winger who is suffering from a knee injury chose a three-year deal with Kelantan Football Association. But as of publication time, the former midfielder of FC Ryukyu appears to have not been registered with Football Association of Malaysia.
According to reports, the only two new player registrations that FAM has received from Kelantan are for players Fitri Omar and Brendan Gan. The official football governing body of Malaysia, FAM had sent out a bulletin noting that player’s eligibility in joining the Malaysian league would only be given to players who will register before April 22, 2014.
As FAM’s Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah speaks with Berita Harian, the former said, “up to now, we have not received anything from Kelantan yet with regards to Wan Zack Haikal Wan.
"We have only received the registration of Fitri Omar and Brendan Gan thus far. I'm not sure if his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) has been processed or not; that I would have to check with KAFA. But one thing for sure, no registration has been submitted yet," Hamzah continues.
While Wan Zack Haikal will be just in time for the Malaysia Cup in August, the registration still has to be submitted before April 22.
Romours circling around suggests that the cause of delay is due to the fact that Kelantan are still required to drop faces from their squad registration as they current posses 27 players which exceeds the number of players allowed by FAM.
To be considered and be allowed to play, a team can only be composed of 26 players.
