Malaysia Super League: Pahang’s Head Coach Wants To Keep Their Winning Streak

Zainal Abidin Hassan, Pahang’s head coach is against complacency for his squad to continue their winning streak in the Malaysia Super League despite the team’s enjoying the top spot.

After defeating Perak in a 2-0 game last Saturday, Pahang is now placed at the top spot bringing Terengganu down by a notch in the team standing of MSL. The Terengganu Turtles still have an upcoming game and Zainal wants his players to keep their winning momentum and play excellence to keep staying at the top.

According to Zainal, the players need to stay focused as there will be more matches to be played as the 2nd round of MSL is just about to get started.

According to Utusan Malaysia, Zainal said “I want to remind the players that they cannot lose their focus and always work hard for future fixtures. They have to keep this wining momentum if they want to be champions at the end of the season and they have to remember their responsibilities.”

The team was able to get the top spot after the Terengganu Turtles was only able to produce a point with their battle against another east coast team, The Kelantan Red Warriors.

Pahang was able to get 3 more points after their in-form striker Dickson Nwakaeme and winger R. Gopinathan made their shot. The team has now collected a total of 19 from 10 fixtures for this season.

Zainal has helped the team’s squad to step-up with their game. Since Zainal took over Ronald Smith, the team has not lost a single clash. But for the Pahang’s head coach, there are still a lot of things the team needs to improve if they want to keep staying on top of the league.

“However, I am happy with the commitment shown by the player and hope they can keep giving the best of performances in the future,” Zainal added.
