With Malaysia's unsuccessful aim to thrash the Philippines at home and away, the country’s ranking dropped three spots from 142 last month to 145, in the most recent FIFA (Federation International Football Associations) world ranking rundown.


The squad under the interim national coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee was at 154th spot in January, 150th in February and 141st in March.

The present position puts Malaysia keeping pace with teams like Belize (144), Kyrgyzstan (146), India and Singapore (147), and Puerto Rico (149).

In the South East Asia rundown, Malaysia dropped a notch to fourth behind Vietnam with 116. The Philippines is at 140 and Thailand at 146.

Additionally, Malaysia slipped from 22nd to 23rd spot in Asia.

Looking at the top of the table ranking that features 209 nations, world and European champions Spain stayed at the top while Germany and Portugal held second and third spots individually.

Meanwhile, the score sheets have Spain have with 1,460 points followed by Germany with 1,390 while Portugal has 1,245 points.
